Instructor Development Course - Price on Application
The foundation of instructor development is the PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC), consisting of online independent study through the PADI E-Learning program and live delivery segments. We are in partnership with two Course Directors - Bethan "Betty" Comley at ProDive UK and Dan Scarlata at Paradise Divers Tenerife and provide full IDC courses.
The IDC can also be separated into an Assistant Instructor (AI) course and the Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI) program.
Candidates completing an entire IDC (or AIs who go onto complete an OWSI program) are eligible to enrol in a PADI Instructor Examination (IE) conducted by PADI staff. The IE evaluates the candidates teaching ability, dive knowledge, skill level, understanding of the PADI System, attitude and professionalism using standardized, objective criteria. When the criteria are met, candidates achieve the PADI open Water Scuba Instructor rating.
The IDC emphasises development, not testing, and so provides a low stress environment, conducive to learning. Candidates can relax and concentrate on skill development, knowing that making mistakes is part of the learning process. During these courses, the staff play the important roles of supporting, guiding and advising candidates.
