What is PADI Discover Scuba Diving (DSD / Try Dive)?

Do I need prior experience or certification?
- No. It’s designed for beginners with no prior scuba diving experience or certification.
- The experience take place every Thursday evening at the Cripps Pool in Northampton from 19:30 to 21:30 (2 hours total) this time includes briefing, equipment set up, and pool practice and skills.
- Basic dive theory, equipment, safety procedures, and essential skills like mask clearing and regulator recovery.
- Yes, you will be trained by a PADI pro following safety standards. You’ll be supervised throughout.
- We provide all of the equipment needed for the experience apart from swim wear and towel. The standard experience includes a BCD, with the option to upgrade to using a XDeep wing for an additional £20 (Total £45 per person).
- Yes. Basic swimming skills and comfort in the water are required.
- Certain conditions (e.g., heart issues, severe asthma, recent surgeries) require a physician’s approval. Please complete the medical questionnaire honestly.
- Yes we include a certificate and a photo once you have completed the experience for you to keep and take home, please note that this is only an experience and does not qualify you as a scuba diver, and if you want to do this you will need to go on to do the PADI Open Water training.
- The price starts at just £25 per person for a 2 hour pool experience where you will get the opportunity to try out scuba diving equipment, with the additional opportunity to upgrade the experience to using an XDeep wing
- You can stop at any time. The instructor will help you surface safely and address concerns. Safety and comfort are prioritized.
