Everything you need to know about a Scuba Review!
Not dived for a while? Dive skills a little rusty? Wanting to refresh some of those skills you've learned? You may have heard of a Scuba Review but were unsure if this is for you - if that's the case read on!
What is a Scuba Review?
A Scuba Review is an informal program designed to review skills for regular divers who have had a short break away from diving of six months or more. It takes place as a pool session, supervised by a PADI Professional, where we refresh your skills and practice buoyancy. Whatever the reason for having a break from diving, the scuba review is the best way to get your confidence back in the safety and comfort of a pool environment.
Who needs a Scuba Review?
Anyone who has taken a break from diving can take part in a Scuba Review. Maybe life got in the way after you completed your Open Water Certification, or you struggled to find a Buddy. Whatever the reason, a Scuba Review is a great way to rebuild your confidence. Many people choose to take a Scuba Review before their annual holiday if they only dive abroad - and some Dive Centres even insist on it before they will take you on guided dives and offer this as part of their service. However if you want to get straight on with the business of fun diving abroad, we can complete your Scuba Review before you fly. We can record a Scuba Review in your log book with the PADI number of both Northampton Scuba School and your PADI Pro, to show to the Dive Centre overseas.
What does it cover?
A Scuba Review has no prescribed format but we will review as many of the open water course skills as possible, as well practising some buoyancy exercises. So we'll start with a refresh on putting your kit together and how to enter the water, followed by the in-water skills. If there's a skill you're particularly concerned about you can let your PADI pro know and they can spend some time looking at this with you. You'll be surprised at how quickly it all comes flooding back!
How much does it cost?
£35.00
What's included?
The main difference is that Reactivate Program includes the PADI Reactivate E learning and has 4 skills which have to be completed - remove/replace mask, hover, weight drop and alternate air source ascent. The remaining skills are also practised in the same way as the Scuba Review. At the end of completing both the E learning and the pool session you receive a Reactivate Card. The cost for the Reactivate is £75.
