PADI Rescue Diver Course
Build the skills, knowledge and confidence to assist divers in difficulty and respond effectively to underwater and surface emergencies.
PADI eLearning
After booking, you’ll receive access to the PADI Rescue Diver eLearning programme. Complete the theory online at your own pace before attending the practical training.
The eLearning covers:
- Recognising and managing diver stress
- Accident prevention and emergency planning
- Responding to panicked or unresponsive divers
- Rescue breathing and diver recovery
- Emergency oxygen and rescue equipment
- Communication with dive teams and emergency services
Completing the eLearning before the practical sessions allows you to focus on developing and applying your rescue skills in the water.
You’ll learn to
- Perform self-rescue and assist distressed divers
- Manage unresponsive divers at the surface and underwater
- Provide rescue breathing and surface tows
- Use emergency oxygen and rescue equipment
- Create emergency action plans
- Communicate effectively during an emergency
The course combines PADI eLearning with confined- and open-water training, practical rescue exercises, realistic scenarios and instructor feedback.

Requirements
You must be at least 12 years old, hold a PADI Adventure Diver certification or equivalent, and have completed CPR and First Aid training within the past 24 months. You’ll also need to complete the PADI medical questionnaire. Medical clearance may be required depending on your answers.
Equipment
All of the equipment is included with your booking. You may use your own suitable, familiar and well-maintained equipment. A primary dive torch and backup light are recommended. For all rental equipment please provide your height, weight, shoe size and clothing sizes with the link we will send you once you have booked on the course so we can prepare the correct equipment.
What to bring
Bring your logbook, certification details, suitable exposure protection and any personal equipment you wish to use. Guidance on rental equipment will be provided where required.
Training dates and locations
Training dates and locations will be confirmed after booking. Sessions may be rescheduled or relocated if weather, water conditions or other safety considerations are unsuitable.
