Fast, affordable entry to scuba from your local PADI 5‑Star centre, Northampton Scuba School.
Course overview
The PADI Scuba Diver course teaches core scuba skills and leads to a PADI Scuba Diver certification (dives to 12 m) — ideal if you’re short on time but want real open‑water experience. Taught by PADI professionals, the course combines eLearning, confined‑water practice and two supervised open‑water dives.
Schedule
Four weekly pool evenings at Cripps Pool (Thursdays 19:30–21:30) — progressive, fully demonstrated skills, guided practice and personalised coaching. Open‑water dives at Stoney Cove (one day) once pool work is complete.
What’s included
- PADI Scuba Diver eLearning (3 modules)
- All scuba kit hire (mask, fins, wetsuit, regulator, BCD) and airfills
- Four × 2‑hour confined‑water pool sessions with PADI instructors
- Two supervised open‑water dives at Stoney Cove (entry/tickets included)
- Small groups for focused instruction and confidence building
- PADI Scuba Diver certification on successful completion
What to bring
- Swimwear and towel
- Any personal mask/snorkel if preferred
- Parking payment for Stoney Cove (card/cash — approx. £0.60)
Booking process
After booking we’ll email 2–3 available date options within 2–3 working days. Choose one and we’ll confirm your place (dates allocated on a first‑come basis). If none suit, we can offer alternative Thursday evenings at Cripps Pool.
Medical & requirements
You must complete the PADI medical questionnaire as soon as possible after booking — you cannot enter the pool without it. If your answers require it, you may need GP clearance. Course requirements include basic water confidence and the standard swim/tread tests (we’ll coach you through them).
Sizing & equipment
We’ll send a sizing guide link so we can prepare the right kit for your pool sessions.
PADI eLearning
Once your booking and medical are confirmed you’ll receive login details for PADI eLearning to study theory at your own pace before pool sessions.
