We kicked off early doors with three newly qualified Open Water Scuba Instructors! A massive well done to Sue Quiggin, Nigel Quiggin, and Kev Wakenshaw for successfully qualifying as PADI Instructors at the Instructor Exam at Gildenburgh! Your hard work and dedication have paid off, and we couldn’t be prouder of this amazing achievement! A big thank you to our incredible Course Directors Karl Elliott and Jason Pritchard for their guidance and to our amazing team of IDC Staff for their support throughout the journey. It’s been a real team effort, and we can’t wait to see what’s next for our newest instructors!
We. were then proud to announce that we’d been awarded the PADI EMEA Bronze Professional Development Excellence Award for the number of professional qualifications signed off in 2024! With our start to 2025 we're aiming to go one better next year!
Ashley Smith then made history as Northampton Scuba School’s first student to qualify in both Tec 40 and Tec 45! For those who don’t know, technical diving takes scuba to the next level. Tec 40 and Tec 45 involve advanced dive planning, staged decompression, using multiple gas mixes, and venturing deeper than recreational limits. It requires serious dedication, skill, and mental discipline—and Ashley has absolutely smashed it!
Our month was then topped off by an epic open water weekend! Challenging conditions with extremely poor visibility made for a real test of skill, but our amazing students and newly qualified instructors rose to the challenge! Nick Wells was also able to complete his Divemaster qualification as the icing on the cake!
Congratulations to our newly certified divers!
